Photography rooted in presence.

I believe the best images happen when you feel seen, not staged.

A little about me

I got my first camera when I was thirteen, and from then on my life changed forever. What started out as me taking photos for any family occasion, our trip to Ireland, Cape Cod, birthday parties, or random photos of my cousins, I loved being behind the camera.

I love traveling. I don't think there was a moment in my life where I wasn't flying or driving in a car. At just 18 years old I was making monthly trips to Manitoba to visit my then boyfriend, and in 2019 I went on a family vacation with his family to Palm Springs. Since then we've been to Vancouver, Calgary, Indiana, and back home to Texas.

I love capturing the moments as they unfold, and I love getting to express my creativity behind the camera but also through my editing style. When I'm not out taking your photos, you'll find me sitting at my laptop editing, either at home or in my favorite local coffee shop with an iced caramel blondie somewhere nearby.

I grew up in Texas and eventually met the love of my life, who, as it turned out, was Canadian. We got married at the peak of COVID and decided to make Winkler, MB our home. I spent years as a barista and that passion runs deep. I still enjoy making specialty drinks for my friends and family.

My golden retriever Louie is also never far away. I probably should've called him shadow. I love music. I sing and have also taught myself six instruments over the years. During the warmer months you can find me in the garden with my hands in the dirt.

Philosophy

Real moments. Bold craft.

I believe the best images are honest. When you can relax, laugh, and forget the camera is there, that's when the good stuff happens. Authenticity matters more to me than a perfect pose. I'm looking for the real connection, the unplanned glance, the moment that actually feels like you.

I'm adventurous behind the lens and I'll do whatever it takes to get the best shot, whether that means climbing, crouching, chasing the light, or trying an unexpected angle. I guide when you need direction and step back when the moment is already happening.

You won't hear me rushing you through a shot list. We build a plan that honors what matters to you, then leave room for surprise. The result is work that looks like your life, not a template.

I highly recommend Lauren! She made our family feel comfortable and wrangled all 34 of us together like it was no big feat. Lauren captured our family beautifully. The enlarged framed prints we got made showed the quality of her work! She is a true professional, organized, and communicates well. Lauren is a natural behind the lens.

Beyond the camera

These days, home looks like Manitoba mornings, a mug of something good, and Louie waiting by the door. That's the life behind the lens, and I wouldn't trade it.
